Relationship Counselling

Relationship counselling is helpful for individuals and couples with relationship issues and concerns. This may be for you and your marriage partner, defacto, fiancee or new partner. You can either attend together or attend on your own. Relationship counselling differs from individual counselling because it focuses on the relationship and not so much on the individual.

It focuses on the patterns of relating and how these patterns develop into interactional patterns that are often repeated over and over in a relationship. These patterns become problematic when they end in conflict which results in loss of trust and intimacy in a relationship.

Kim uses an emotional focused approach to couple counselling by helping the couple become aware of these patterns of relating and helping them reshape these patterns into more functional ways of relating. This increases communication and redevelops trust.

Kim can assist you if you have concerns with impending separation or divorce, affairs, alcohol and gambling partners, domestic violence with compliant partners, conflict and argument, loss of trust, loss of sexual intimacy and general communication commitment issues, decision making concerns and intimacy issues.
